Report Large Lake Debris

Report Billet Floats & Large Navigation Debris

Examples of this debris may include:

  • Dock floats or foam billets
  • Dock sections or large dock pieces
  • Pilings
  • Other large man-made debris presenting a potential hazard to navigation

When reporting an item, please provide as much of the following information as possible:

  • A brief description of the debris
  • A photo showing both the debris and its location
  • A specific location — latitude/longitude coordinates are preferred
  • You may also use the What3Words app to provide an easy-to-share three-word location in addition to GPS coordinates.

Whenever possible, debris should be fully beached or safely secured before a removal request is submitted. This helps ensure the debris does not float away before a removal crew can respond.

If an item is free-floating, local lake patrol units may be able to assist with securing the debris so it can be safely addressed. Please keep in mind that removal assistance is generally limited to man-made debris that presents a hazard to navigation.
